This chisel-tipped photo collage was inspired by an original photo taken at the West Virginia State Capitol Building under the carved head of Hermes. He’s the one with wings on his fascinator.
The title and gold leaf divisions emphasize the lack of familiarity that most inhabitants (even those who live at ease with two funny shaped panhandles) have with the gilded systems that surround them.
The colors are dominantly warm tans, which are offset by deep browns and black.
