The Story

Fifth Rabbit Studios began life as a way for the artist and founder (Meredith Gray Robson) to develop and explore independent artistic projects for a very small number of clients, then rapidly evolved into a larger creative pursuit of its own.

These independent projects are by nature authentic and emotional, and not corporate or cold. They are inspired by and serve to amplify compelling personal stories that relate to particular individuals, brands, spaces, locations and productions.

The numerically animalistic name is the sobriquet for one of the artist’s original characters whose tale has yet to be revealed.

The Where

Based in Scott Depot, West Virginia and deeply embedded in Pittsburgh, PA. Fifth Rabbit provides artistic services across the region and beyond.

The Founder

Meredith Gray Robson is the artist behind and founder of Fifth Rabbit Studios. With a drive to work on independent art projects and intensify human centric stories, she has set the wheels of the rabbit turning.

Meredith’s personal art practice is rooted in the natural world, with a deep and unwavering fascination with mysticism, science fiction, surrealism and the appetizingly grotesque. While the work tends toward the objectively beautiful, there’s always a hidden sense of humor tucked inside that’s quiet, but intentional.

Contrary to the popular logic of one medium, one style and recurring subjects, she works with a wide range of classical artistic tools and techniques. Generally, pieces begin with a hand drawn sketch or reference photo and then progress into a tighter and/or larger work of black pencil, colored pencil, pastel, oil paint, watercolor and ink, or photography.

Her artistic eye was shaped by a childhood in the beautiful rural, but semi-industrialized, backwoods of Scott Depot, West Virginia. Only to be refocused by the living contrast of modernism and the Gilded Age that is Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

In 2012, Meredith graduated from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh with a degree in graphic design, although she began her education in filmmaking. The same year she began working as an art director for a Pittsburgh based advertising agency, and kept right along with the art direction/marketing/advertising trajectory for thirteen years.

Meredith created Fifth Rabbit Studios, LLC in 2023 as a path to pursue the authentic and emotional projects that lean in to her artistic sensibility and are just asking to be creatively heightened. By the time 2025 rolled around, Meredith moved back to Scott Depot, West Virginia to expand Fifth Rabbit and create a one-of-a-kind home studio that is secluded in the woods where she grew up.
