Sophisticated Seasonal Moodiness
This lush, immersive, and highly textured fall photo series is the ideal way to envelop your space in sophisticated seasonal moodiness.
Its color story is based in deep espresso browns, rich black and burnt orange broken up with soft forms of warm cream; similar to paintings of the Dutch Golden Age. There is an occasional smattering of umber and gold, a sprinkling of moss green, and a few spots of vermilion, which provide vibrance and coordinate with the warm flavors of fall. All of the photos were taken deep in the woods of Scott Depot, WV.
Demeter’s Walk takes us along on her journey from the extreme heights of the mountains, descending through a golden canopy, and to the good ground where life provides a defined heading. Though the colors, the imagery, and the creatures become darker and more ominous; it leads to a new and wonderful height.
How To Style
While inspired by mythology, seasonality, and a Dutch Golden Age or Rembrandt-like color palette, the compositions are modern and minimalistic. Each photo is a bold statement piece that would look best with thin or ultra-thin framing in black or dark warm colors without a mat. A more traditional alternative would be dark walnut or yellow gold leaf.
